President’s Message
May 2022 Issue
Hello, Ladies,
I hope that everyone is enjoying the warmer weather. Our Spring Brunch is almost here, and we are excited to see you all soon! Thank you to my co-chair Vickie Cobb, other committee members Alice Harper, Sophie Schubert, and Vicki Green for all of your hard work in pulling this event together. Seats are filling up fast, so please send your Evite RSVP soon.
The fashion show will feature apparel by Katherine Way, shoes by An Unlikely Pear, and Kendra Scott jewelry. These vendors have all generously donated items for our raffle, too! You’ll have the opportunity to shop in the pop-up stores in the Clubhouse lobby after the brunch. Katherine Way is having a special second raffle prize for any woman who wears their Katherine Way attire to the Brunch!
It’s time to renew your membership. You can do this on the Application page of our website or at the Spring Brunch on May 14th. Please renew by June 1st. If you have any questions about membership, please reach out to Vickie Cobb at vickiemennen@yahoo.com.
Finally, since I decided to step down at the end of the season, this will be my final President’s Message. I want to thank Vickie Cobb, Cindy Phillips, and Carol Morin for their service on our Executive Committee and our entire Board for their hard work this past season. It was a challenging couple of years, and I believe the Women’s Network weathered the storm and has become even stronger through the pandemic. It was a privilege to meet so many strong, unique, and inspiring women during my three years on the Board. I hope to see you at the Spring Brunch and wish all of you the best.
Thanks,
Stacie
The Women's Network of Jacksonville Golf & Country Club was formed in 1992 by a small group of women who wanted to help their new neighbors feel welcome. Our members enjoy numerous clubs that offer something for a variety of interests. We also develop projects to improve our own neighborhood and contribute to many charities in the greater Jacksonville community.
From our spirited Book Club discussions to the entertaining activities of the Just For Fun Club outings, there is certainly a club that will be of interest to you. Several of our clubs have been in place for years and others just started. We strive to keep our clubs reflective of the interests and demographics across our membership. Some of our clubs are geared toward couples. We hope we have something for you, and we’re always open to new suggestions!
When you look around our beautiful neighborhood, you see many improvements that were provided by the Women's Network. From the lighted signs at both gate entrances to the impressive fountain on the 18th hole, you see the contributions from the Women’s Network.
Additionally, across the greater Jacksonville area, we are active participants in charitable giving supporting many organizations. These activities include building Habitat for Humanity homes, hosting collegiate athletes, contributing to cancer research, and helping schools in need. We believe our focus on issues that are important to women and families help make a difference in our community.
If you're new to the neighborhood or the country club, and want to make new friends, please consider joining the Women's Network. Even if you've lived in the neighborhood for years or used to be a member, we'd love to have you back!
