Community, Caring, and Sharing
Hello, Ladies,
Welcome to our new members! Thanks to those who have renewed their membership and who have donated their annual dues. As I stated in my last letter, we will donate all funds collected from the annual dues to Mission House and Rethreaded. Even though we offer free membership this year, you still need to fill out a renewal application if you are a current member. If you haven’t renewed yet, please visit the Application page. The deadline to renew is December 31, 2020.
Although we weren’t able to have our annual Fall Dinner, we will still make charitable donations, just like we do every year. After my call to all members for their charity suggestions, we were presented with three deserving organizations. This year the Board has agreed to donate to Inspire to Rise, The Sanctuary of Northeast Florida, and Children’s Home Society. To learn more about these charities, please click each name to go directly to their websites.
We have a new Member Spotlight! This month we tried something a little different and focused on several women. This Spotlight is entitled The Mask Makers and highlights the women who assembled kits, cut fabric and made masks for those in need during this pandemic. We are proud of these members and hope you enjoy the article written by MaryAnn Healey.
Last month, the Welcoming Committee delivered gifts to new JGCC residents. We had a great time decorating cookies, assembling plants, and meeting our new neighbors! If you are interested in lending a hand and would like to join the Welcoming Committee, please contact Tracy Navarro at tracynavarro.realtor@gmail.com.
Our annual Luminarias Evening will be on Saturday, December 5th. This year, in addition to the traditional payment methods, you will also be able to purchase your Luminaria Kits using Pay Pal. You can also sign up to volunteer directly through this website. Please visit the Luminarias page for all of the details.
As so many events have been affected by COVID-19, our annual Wolfson Children’s Hospital Toy & Book Drive is no exception. There will be no toy drop box in the Clubhouse this year. However, you can donate gifts through Amazon and have them sent directly to Wolfson. For additional details, please see the flyer in our newsletter or on the What's New page.
Due to our lack of activities, we have decided to make this newsletter a Holiday Issue to cover November, December, and January. Our next issue will be in February. I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday season! Here’s wishing 2021 is more peaceful, less challenging, and full of health and happiness for all of you and your families.
Thanks,
Stacie

The Women's Network of Jacksonville Golf & Country Club was formed in 1992 by a small group of women who wanted to help their new neighbors feel welcome. Our members enjoy numerous clubs that offer something for a variety of interests. We also develop projects to improve our own neighborhood and contribute to many charities in the greater Jacksonville community.
From our spirited Book Club discussions to the competitive Trivia Club outings, there is certainly a club that will be of interest to you. Several of our clubs have been in place for years and others just started. We strive to keep our clubs reflective of the interests and demographics across our membership. We hope we have something for you, and we’re always open to new suggestions!
When you look around our beautiful neighborhood, you see many improvements that were provided by the Women's Network. From the lighted signs at both gate entrances to the impressive fountain on the 18th hole, you see the contributions from the Women’s Network.
Additionally, across the greater Jacksonville area, we are active participants in charitable giving supporting many organizations. These activities include building Habitat for Humanity homes, hosting collegiate athletes, contributing to cancer research, and helping schools in need. We believe our focus on issues that are important to women and families help make a difference in our community.
If you're new to the neighborhood and want to make new friends, please consider joining the Women's Network. Even if you've lived in the neighborhood for years or used to be a member, we'd love to have you back!
